My fun blog Jon Kragskow at The Shuttleworth Collection

My day at the shuttleworth collection.

On Saturday 11th October I and my brother went toThe Shuttleworth Collection near Biggleswade. Here they had many planes from different eras such as world war one, two, and other miscellaneous plane types and a few cars.

There were 8 hangars I shall give you a brief description of each of them. Hangar one was mainly fixing the planes and bringing them up to tip top condition there were planes that had been half built to show you the different stages of production.

Hangar two was the reception and gift shop (to me a long time to figure that out).

Hangar 3 was showing some of the engines propellers and planes of world war one, they had both British and Nazi Germanys planes.

Moving on to hangar 4 containing some world war two planes and one thing was catching my eye, a propeller 3 times the size of me, it was massive!

Hangar 5 was mainly the same but had some more recent World War 2 planes. I saw a very small plane used by the Germans, a Messerschmitt rocket plane. It was probably about 3 meters long and could carry on person, what a squeeze!

Hangar 6 had a few small cars and a separate room for hors drawn carriages and a small war engineer's workshop.

Hangar 7 had got to be my favourite hanger because it had a motor bike collection, there were normal motorbikes small motorbikes and big motorbikes it was amazing.

Hangar 8 had lots of planes it had small ones and a very big one with lots of engines. Then it was time for me to go back home.

But overall it was very good and definitely somewhere I would go again.
