It's funny, it's amusing, it's superb, it's the best pantomime, it's great for all the family and it's ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at The Grove Theatre in Dunstable'; and you should come to see it.
On the 18th of December I went to see Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at The Grove Theatre in Dunstable; it was probably the funniest pantomime I've ever seen. There are great jokes for all the family; even my mum was laughing! The scene changes were absolutely amazing and so fast!!! Muddles was probably the funniest character, and he was played by Richard Cadell (who was also the director); but guess who came with him ...Sooty and Sweep!!!!!!! Also a big round of applause for Laura Scott who played Snow White.
I must say before you go you should have a quick look at the website (http://www.grove-theatre.co.uk/) because it's very easy to find useful information. You should also get hold of some directions of how to get there because we took a few detours. The staff at the theatre were very helpful.
There was also lots of singing and dancing. They had about 10 songs at least! Some dancing was also by young children. The audience also joined in a bit sometimes, but when the mums and dads wouldn't join in Sooty sprayed them with water from his water pistol! Another funny character was Dame Donut (also known as Nutty) who threw real donuts and crisps at people, she also threw an egg but I don't think it was real. Sooty also did some magic tricks with Muddles.
If you miss it, don't worry: there are lots more great concerts and pantomimes at The Grove Theatre; just look on the website and click on ‘what's on'. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is a great pantomime for all the family, and The Grove Theatre in Dunstable is a great theatre for the whole of England! Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is the first ever performance I've seen at the Grove Theatre in Dunstable and it's definitely given me a good first impression.
Did you know that butterflies only live up to two weeks? I only found that out the other day, when I went to explore ‘Wild Britain'. It's great at Wild Britain; there's a load to explore and do.
It's amazing in the butterfly house; there are so many beautiful sites. I especialy enjoyed watching the butterflies fly across their house, their colourful wings flapping. There are ants in the butterfly house; it looked so fun in their tiny, little world. It's interesting how an ant can carry an object twice the size of it and a human cannot. There are ducks in the butterfly house and they rest and sleep on one leg so they can rest one of their legs. There are also giant fish that swim in ponds and around waterfalls and beautiful plants.
We also saw tarantulas (aaaaahhhhhh!!!!!) in a little hut with some other creatures like giant snails, mice and millipedes. We also went to an outside area with other animals like goats, rabbits and guinea pigs. There was one goat that was huge! You were aloud to step inside the rabbit's pen and stroke them. They were so soft!
After we had seen the animals we went for a walk in the woods and there were lots of ponds and nice scenery. There were also lots of sculptures of animals that looked rather real from a distance. In the woods there was a challenge and you had to make a shelter out of sticks like a hedgehog, we didn't make one but we explored the ones that other people had made. Before we went to see the animals we got a challenge to do; we had to spot a number of different animals and we did so we won a badge that we could colour in our self. We also watched a small video about butterflies before we saw the animals.
Before you go to Wild Britain you should look on their website it is very easy to find information like what's on and lots more. I must warn you it is very hot in the butterfly house so do not go in wearing huge coats. I did a small interview with one of the workers from Wild Britain, I asked her what she does, and I asked her why they changed the name from ‘The Butterfly Park' to ‘Wild Britain' and she said it was because they are going to have more British animals there. There is a nice play area for the younger kids and lots of space to run around in. I have been to Wild Britain many times and every time I go I always enjoy it.
