My fun blog Mead Open Farm

Mead Open Farm

Georgia has been to her chosen attraction before, but this was the first time she had been as an Experience Bedfordshire Explorer. She took a look at Mead Open Farm's website www.meadopenfarm.co.uk  before she visited and found that it was easy to find information about the attraction. She states "The website was full of information about what activities there are at the farm. I think this will encourage people to come as there are activities for all ages.

Georgia went to Mead Open Farm for a party and tried some of the food on offer "they supplied a buffet of Pizza fingers, sandwiches, chips, crisps and dessert too. The food was very pleasant".

The Stratton Family seemed to have a few issues finding the attraction and Georgia tells us that "Mead Open Farm is located in Billington, we got confused because there is also a place called Great Billington so we didn't know how to get to the attraction. There is also very poor sign posting around the area. (It would have helped if the Sat Nav took us to the right place too!), they eventually found the attraction and had a very nice time.

I think Mead Open Farm is targeted at children who are younger than me, as the activities are designed for younger people. You can stroke the bunnies and guinea pigs, groom the ponies, feed the lambs and milk the cows.

There are some activities that older children can join in with such as crazy golf, riding on the go-karts and playing in Shaggy's Playworld, but these are no enough to fill a whole day.

My favourite activity was the Sheep racing where they have teddy bears tied to their backs. You can pick a sheep you think will win, though you can't put any money on it as a bet... (My dad was a bit disappointed!!). I was also a bit disappointed myself when I couldn't play on some of the larger slides in Shaggy's Playworld, as I was wearing cropped trousers and was told all of my legs needed to be covered up. This was not very well advertised in the information I had about the farm, although it was clear you had to wear socks.

I enjoyed my visit to Mead Open Farm, as the people were very friendly and helpful. I also enjoyed going to the gift shop, where there is a big selection of gifts to buy at a reasonable price. I would probably visit the farm again, as I really like animals but I think that children of my age would not find it as interesting as younger children.
